War in Ukraine: Powerful Russian attack on Ukraine with missiles and drones: how many targets did Ukrainian air defense shoot down and where was the enemy aiming?
The invaders launched 16 missiles of various types and 13 unmanned aerial vehicles.
On the night of Saturday, June 22, the Russian occupiers launched a missile and air strike on Ukraine. The occupiers hit critical infrastructure facilities in various regions of Ukraine. Air defense shot down 12 missiles and 13 unmanned aerial vehicles.
This was announced by the commander of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleschuk, tsn.ua.
The invaders used air-, sea-, and land-based missiles, as well as Shahed drones. In total, the Russians hit 16 missiles of various types and 13 UAVs:
ten X-101/X-555 cruise missiles from Tu-95 MS strategic aviation aircraft (launch area - Saratov region of the Russian Federation);
two Iskander-K cruise missiles were launched from the temporarily annexed Crimea;
four Kalibr cruise missiles (from the Black Sea);
13 attack UAVs of the "Shahed-131/136" type (launch area - Russian Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Balaklava in Crimea).
It is noted that 25 air targets were shot down as a result of anti-aircraft combat:
seven X-101/X-555 cruise missiles;
four Kalibr cruise missiles;
one "Iskander-K" cruise missile;
13 shock UAVs of the "Shahed-131/136" type.
As reported, on June 22, the Russian Federation powerfully struck the energy infrastructure. The Russians attacked objects in the southern and western regions.
It is noted that at night the enemy carried out the eighth attack on the energy facilities of "Ukrenergo". In particular, equipment at Ukrenergo facilities in Zaporizhzhia and Lviv regions was damaged.
