Миколаївські археологи на розкопках городища стародавніх кіммерійців «Міста кімерійського» знайшли кілька цікавих знахідок, серед яких особливу увагу привертає міст через фортечний рів, якому 3200 років.
Про це повідомив керівник розкопок, відомий миколаївський археолог, старший викладач Миколаївського Національного університету ім. Сухомлинського Кирило Горбенко.

«Ми знайшли найстаріший у Східній Європі міст через фортечний рів. Він датується 1250 роком до н.е., тобто йому 3200 років. Трохи старший за віком міст є тільки у Греції, він належить до пам’яток Мікенської (або Ахейської) цивілізації і датується 1300 роком до н.е.», - розповів Горбенко.
Але, за його словами, між вищеназваними мостами є принципова різниця: там подібна конструкція зроблена через яр, щоб проходило військо або проїжджали люди, а наш міст – це елемент фортифікаційної споруди. Він забезпечував прохід до цитаделі городища. Основа мосту була кам’яна, а зверху стояла дерев’яна конструкція.
Крім того, археологи виявили тут залишки кераміки, кілька господарських ям і архітектурну конструкцію, призначення якої наразі ще треба вивчити.
«У цьому сезоні ми почали працювати на новій ділянці розміром 10 на 10 метрів і розчистили кладку з цікавою архітектурною спорудою. Відкопали башту і скупчення каміння. Це або новий житловий будинок, або якась фортифікаційна споруда, адже вона знаходиться якраз на стику цитаделі та ближнього передмістя. Щоб зрозуміти це, ми у вересні продовжимо тут розкопки, які довелося тимчасово призупинити через несприятливі погодні умови. Адже спочатку все заливав дощ, а тоді на його зміну прийшла неймовірна спека. Сподіваємося, що знайдені господарські ями дадуть нам нову інформацію», - додав Горбенко.
«Місто кімерійське» - городище стародавніх кіммерійців, розташоване у центрі Миколаєва. Це поселення існувало з середини XIII і до початку Х сторіччя до нової ери і було свідком багатьох історичних подій, наприклад, розквіту Нового царства в Єгипті і падіння Трої.
Перші письмові згадки про кіммерійців належать Гомеру, який у своїй «Одіссеї» писав: «Там країна і місто мужів кіммерійських…». Також про кіммерійців йдеться у Біблії і в ассірійських хроніках.
Історія самих кіммерійців сповнена таємниць. Але науковці потроху розгадують їх. Так вже відомо, що до еліти цього народу входили ремісники найвищої кваліфікації. А «Місто кімерійське» було потужним тогочасним ремісничим центром.
В цьому році виповнюється 30 років з моменту відновлення тут розкопок.

"We found the oldest bridge in Eastern Europe across the moat. It dates back to 1250 BC, ie it is 3200 years old. Slightly older cities are only in Greece, it belongs to the monuments of Mycenaean (or Achaean) civilization and dates back to 1300 BC, "- said Gorbenko.
But, according to him, there is a fundamental difference between the above-mentioned bridges: there is a similar structure made across the ravine so that the army could pass or people could pass, and our bridge is an element of a fortification. He provided access to the citadel of the settlement. The base of the bridge was made of stone, and a wooden structure stood on top.
In addition, archaeologists have found the remains of pottery, several household pits and architectural structure, the purpose of which is still to be studied.
“This season we started working on a new 10 by 10 meter site and cleared the masonry with an interesting architectural structure. They dug up the tower and piles of stones. This is either a new residential building or a fortification, because it is located just at the junction of the citadel and the nearby suburbs. To understand this, we will continue excavations here in September, which had to be temporarily suspended due to adverse weather conditions. After all, at first everything was flooded with rain, and then it was replaced by incredible heat. We hope that the found economic wells will give us new information, "Gorbenko added.
"Cimmerian city" - a settlement of ancient Cimmerians, located in the center of Nikolaev. This settlement existed from the middle of the 13th to the beginning of the 10th century BC and witnessed many historical events, such as the rise of the New Kingdom in Egypt and the fall of Troy.
The first written mention of the Cimmerians belongs to Homer, who wrote in his "Odyssey": "There is a country and a city of Cimmerian men…". The Cimmerians are also mentioned in the Bible and in the Assyrian chronicles.
The history of the Cimmerians themselves is full of mysteries. But scientists are gradually unraveling them. It is already known that the elite of this people included artisans of the highest qualification. And the Cimmerian City was a powerful craft center at the time.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the resumption of excavations here.
