The USA is the birthplace of iconic video games

The United States of America can be considered the birthplace of the video game industry. Many creative studios of cult projects are located here. In particular, popular products that appeared in the US include:

FIFA, Battlefield and Need for Speed ​​series (Electronic Arts);

Call of Duty, Star Wars, Warcraft and Diablo series (Activision Blizzard);

It is from this country that a number of world-famous video games of completely different genres come from. However, of course, the geography of territories where unique projects were born is not limited to the United States.

Japan is not far behind

Japan can compete with the United States for the title of the birthplace of video games. In particular, it is from here that a number of large companies that have developed many iconic products, such as:

Super Mario, Pokemon and The Legend of Zelda series (Nintendo);

The Elden Ring and the Dark Souls series (FromSoftware),

series Pro Evolution Soccer and Silent Hill (Konami).

In the case of Japan, the origin of Sony video games is very interesting. Although the company is based in Tokyo, most of its subsidiary studios directly involved in product development are located outside the country. By the way, the lion's share of them work in the USA.

The pride of Polish gamers

Let's return to Europe, namely to Poland, which is neighboring Ukraine. Now the whole world knows about the Polish video game developer CD Project Red.

It is this studio that owns the well-known series The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077. The latter, by the way, is now on everyone's lips due to the release of the game Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty.

In general, CD Project Red, like almost the entire Polish people, supports Ukraine. For example, in the last "Cyberpunk" they found an excerpt from a poem by Taras Shevchenko. Later, the Polish studio began to ask the Russians for the Ukrainian localization of the game.

France is the European leader

When it comes to France in the context of popular video games, one of the biggest studios in the world, Ubisoft, immediately comes to mind. The popular series Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia and Far Cry belong to the "pen" of its employees.

Ubisoft has its offices in many countries on different continents. The company's representative offices operate in Brazil, the USA, Canada, Singapore, etc. There are also subsidiary studios in Ukraine - we are talking about Ubisoft Kyiv and Ubisoft Odesa.

By the way, the company recently released a sequel to its cult series Assassin's Creed, which was called Mirage.

Great Britain

In the gaming industry, Great Britain is known primarily for Lionhead Studios, which created the Fable series of video games. However, in 2016, Microsoft, which owned Lionhead Studios since 2006, announced the closure of the studio. This news quite upset the fans of the project.

Rebellion Developments can also be singled out among British studios. The Sniper Elite game series stands out among its works.
